The Embassy Series visited the Residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey on April 9, 2013 and was welcomed by Timur Solyemez, Deputy Chief of Mission.  The evening featured the world reknown and gifted pianist, Gulsin Onay.

Welcome to an evening of voice, piano, culture and tasty island treats from the Embassy of Trinidad & Tobago. The Embassy Series is welcomed by  His Excellency Dr. Neil Parsan who introduces us to his special guest, Ambassador Nirupama Rao from the Embassy of India. The focus of the evening is the beautiful voice of soprano singer, Jeanine de Bique and pianist, Christopher Cano.

Choreographer and Dancer, Lesole Maines tackled the issue of homelessness with his haunting, beautiful and compelling work, “Without A Home”, recorded in Nov. of 2010 and presented at Dance Place.  After months of research- involving visits and time “in the field” with agencies that provide services to homeless D.C. residents and drawing on his experience and research in South Africa, Lesole’s work begs us to consider what it means to live comfortably… when others have nothing.

The Embassy Series was recently at the Embassy of Australia with a wonderful evening of performance and a special message of welcome and insight on Australian culture and music from Ambassador Kim Beazly.  The evening centered around the gifted performances of Ray Chen, violin and Julio Elizalde, pianist. The webspot excerpts also includes some footage of Lie of The Land- stunning New Australian Landscapes art that is displayed throughout the Embassy halls.

The Embassy Series in conjunction with the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area, presents an evening of performance with Adam Grode and special remarks from Ambassador Erlan A. Idrissov.  This specially excerpted video includes a portion of a tour provided to local D.C. students of the Embassy of Kazakhstan and its cultural and historic artifacts, and a wonderful buffet of indigenous foods.
